Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell Captain Reece James this summer in order to raise funds to ease their financial fair play concerns.

Recce James is battling lots of injuries since his breakthrough season at Chelsea. The England Right Back was named Chelsea’s first team captain at the start of the season by Mauricio Pochettino after the departure of Azpilicueta.

James is undoubtedly a world-class right-back on his day, scoring and assisting for the blues despite playing from the back. But unfortunately his day simply doesn’t come particularly often due to injuries which leads to a total fall off for the Cobham Graduate.

Todd Boehly is now tempted to sell the English man this summer, having already declined offers from European top clubs last summer.

Recce James is arguably Chelsea’s fans favorite and also most important player, however he has made just nine appearances in all competitions so far this season courtesy of two separate injury issues and surgeries. The reports of Recce James sell will come as a shock to A Lot of Chelsea fans.

Meanwhile, Spanish giants Real Madrid have a historical interest in Recce James and while selling the Englishman would anger Chelsea fans, it could be a smart move if the Blues believe his injury woes are here to stay for the rest of his career.

Real Madrid in 2022 bidded over £100M for Recce James, which was initially rejected by the Chelsea board under Roman Abrahimovic tenure. As it stands now Chelsea will accept as low as £60M for the injury prone captain.

Chelsea are already paraded 20-Year-Old France international Malo Gusto, whose form at right-back has been sensational this season and although the France international isn’t yet at James’ level, he isn’t far behind and he has crucially been available for the majority of the season for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
