Jeremy Doku has shared his confidence in Pep Guardiola’s ability to turn things around for Manchester City during a tough period. Speaking in an interview, as reported by City Xtra, Doku described Guardiola as the best coach in the world and praised his creativity and problem-solving skills.
Doku joined City in 2023 from Stade Rennais in a big-money deal and has been competing with Jack Grealish for the left-wing spot. While his performances have been inconsistent at times, his energy and potential have made him an important option for Guardiola in attack.
Despite their recent 2-0 win over Leicester City, City has struggled this season. They sit sixth in the Premier League and are in a difficult position in the Champions League. However, Doku is confident Guardiola can find a way forward.

“Pep is the best coach I’ve ever worked with,” Doku said. “He always has new ideas and solutions for every problem. That’s why I know he’ll come up with something to help us get back to our best.”
Doku also talked about how much he has learned under Guardiola. “He’s taught me a lot about positioning and understanding the game. He doesn’t just let you play the way you’re used to; he wants you to learn and adapt to help the team. It’s like being in school,” Doku explained.
He added that his teammates have also been a big influence on him. “I watch players like Jack, Phil, and Bernardo to see what I can learn from them. Training with them every day is an honor,” Doku said.
City will face West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, hoping to build on their recent victory. After that, they’ll take on Salford City in the FA Cup, a chance for Guardiola to rotate his squad and get back on track in domestic competitions.
As Manchester City looks to improve, Doku’s trust in Guardiola and the team’s determination will be key to turning their season around.
