Manchester United legend Roy Keane has thrown his weight behind Manchester City’s title race. The outspoken pundit joined a chorus of experts predicting a two-horse race between the Citizens and Arsenal.
The Gunners have impressed during last season under Mikel Arteta, but Keane feels City just have the edge. “City,” he stated, typically straight to the point on The Overlap’s Stick To Football show when asked who he thought would be crowned champions. That sentiment was shared by the other pundits; Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott.
The former Ireland captain bases his trust in City on the more recent phenomenon of their dominance. The club has won the title in four of the previous five seasons, a sort of ruthless efficiency that few teams have ever been able to match in the past. He also added players like Kyle Walker and their desire to go on and create history could be a big sway figure.

Walker has said: “If City win the league again, it’s something I don’t think will ever be replicated.” This steely ambition, coupled with City’s wealth of talent and the tactical acumen of Guardiola, makes them a hard force to crack for any team.
While Arsenal have shown great leaps, the weight of expectations and effecting a dethronement of such a redoubtable champion may be too entrenched in history.
For now, most bookmakers concede that City are still the team to beat. But, looking to the new season on the horizon, the Premier League title race is preparing to resemble another thrilling episode in English football.
