Career Timeline

Born in Amsterdam Simons joined the youth set up of Barcelona in 2010 from club Deportivo Thader of Alicante, where he quickly  progressed to become one of the most highly-rated youth players. Chelsea amongst other clubs tried to sign him then but his father insisted he wanted him to stay in Spain.

Xavi Simons ended up signing his professional contract at Paris Saint-Germain after having failed to agree to a new contract with Barcelona. On a three year contract worth €1 million  annually with PSG, Simons made his professional debut on February 10 2021 when he came as a substitute for Julian Draxler in a 1-0 coupe de France win over Caen and he made his Ligue debut two months later. He won his first professional trophy the coupe de France  on 19^th may, 2021.

With the return of numerous international players from summer competitions, Mauricio Pochettino made the decision on August 18 to reduce the size of his senior team which resulted in him Moving Xavi alongside Edourard Michut back to the PSG U19 team coached by former PSG defender Zoumana Camara.

One month later On 25^th October he scored his first Champions league goal in a 3 -1 victory over Red Star Balgrade and was also named player of the match having provided an assist also he became the youngest Dutch player to achieve both scoring and assisting in the competition since Arjen Robben in 2003, he was just 20 years and 187 years when he broke this record.
