Arsenal defender Ben White has showered praise on summer Manchester City signing Jeremy Doku, admitting the £55million man is one of the toughest opponents he has ever come up against.
During a recent interview, White spoke of the great skills of Doku and how he affects games: “Yeah, he’s top,” White said, just showing how talented Doku is.
The Belgian winger arrived at City this summer from Rennes. He quickly made impacts, having 43 appearances in his first season, with six goals and 11 assists in all competitions. His performance brought him wide recognition, just like that wonderful display against Arsenal.
White’s comments merely served to reinforce Doku’s perception as a hard offensive player: “Very hard for defenders to handle, the 22-year-old’s blend of pace and dribbling ability and an eye for goal gets him in the penalty area better than anyone else, while he was second in the league last season for successful take-ons two key stats highlighting just how much he helps City’s attack.
With the Premier League started, Doku is looking to continue the form and see City lift the title once again. White’s comments simply underline quite how impressive Doku is and what the various problems he can cause for defences are.
